A total of 91 wines of the D.O. Monterrei awarded in the ‘Guía de Vinos, Destilados y Bodegas de Galicia 2022’

This morning, the headquarters of the Regulatory Council of the D.O. Monterrei has witnessed the presentation of the ‘Guía de Vinos, Bodegas y Destilados de Galicia 2022’.

Present at the event were the president of the Council, Lara Da Silva, and one of the authors of the guide, Luis Paadín. The content of the publication has been presented, in which the 27 wineries of Monterrei are referenced. On this occasion, a total of 91 wines have won a medal, of which 13 have been Gran Oro, 15 Oro +, 45 Oro and 18 Plata.

For the realization of this guide, more than 1,500 wines and distillates have been tasted (belonging to all the wineries and distilleries protected in the DO’s and Galician IGP’s). It also includes historical medals, climate and rainfall maps of the last 4 years in each denomination, lithological and relief maps, origin of grapes based on three levels (Zone/Region – Town Hall / Parish – Plot). As well as, wine finder by R.E.N. (Bottler and Packer Registration Number) with the names of the bottling wineries, family tree of some of the main ancestral varieties of Galicia; as well as harmonies of Galician wines with regional dishes from all over Spain.
