More than 35,000 tastings sold at the XVIII Monterrei Wine Fair

The Monterrei Wine Fair has exceeded all forecasts, and the last edition was closed with an increase in both the number of visitors and tastings.

On this occasion, more than 35,000 have been sold during the three days of the fair, “which is a historic success”, says the president of the Consello Regulador, Manuel Vázquez, “not only by the number of tastings but also by the number of bottles sold, which shows that every year more groups of friends and families come together to enjoy the fair”.

This increase in attendance has been mainly among young people. A relevant fact because “it reflects the approach of young people to the world of wine”, says the president. In addition to visitors from other areas of the country, taking advantage of the summer rest period, there has also been an increase in attendees from northern Portugal.

With regard to the different tastings scheduled for this edition, they have hung up the poster full, as well as activities aimed at children, “we even had people on a waiting list,” recalls Vázquez. The president also highlights “the increase and diversity of food stands, positively valued by attendees as accompaniment for wines”.

“From the Consello Regulador we want to thank the involvement of the wineries participating in this edition, because without them the Monterrei Wine Fair would not have this success”, says Manuel Vázquez, “in addition to the indispensable collaboration of the Concello de Verín, and in particular of all the workers who have worked so that this event was possible, as well as the Group of Civil Protection Volunteers of Verín, Local Police or Civil Guard, among others”.
