The headquarters of the Regulatory Council hosted a meeting of the Certification Committee of the Denomination of Origin Monterrei, aimed at evaluating the certification of a new winery in the wine territory.
Once the Committee has found that this has exceeded all the necessary requirements, the winery Alejandro Ramón Blanco Dijkhoff (located in Mourazos -Verín-) goes on to certify its wines under the typology: white Monterrei and red Monterrei. This certification allows the winery to use the distinctive D.O.
With this addition there are already 29 wineries registered and certified by the Denomination of Origin Monterrei, which brings together the municipalities of Castrelo do Val, Monterrei, Oímbra, Riós, Verín and Vilardevós. The vineyards of Monterrei occupy 720 hectares of territory, where 375 winegrowers work.
