The D.O. Monterrei starts towards the new normality in A Coruña
The latest promotional activity of the D.O. Monterrei, held in A Coruña, has had more than a hundred professionals from Ferrolterra, Costa da Morte, Santiago and A Coruña.
During two shifts, and under the slogan “The most Atlantic of the continental and the most continental of the Atlantic”, hoteliers, sommeliers, distributors, enophiles, hospitality teachers of the IES of A Coruña, Santiago and Pontedeume, have discovered the peculiarities of this Galician wine denomination. In this initiative they received information on the soil and climate characteristics, grape varieties, wine typologies, the process of producing them or the importance of viticulture in the history and economy of the region.
On the other hand, the participants in this initiative of the denomination of origin Monterrei have been able to taste the reds and whites of the following wineries: Ladairo, Pazos del Rey, Gargalo, José Antonio Da Silva Pereira (Vinos Lara), Quinta do Buble, Terras do Cigarrón, Pazo Blanco Núñez (Tapias Mariñán), Fragas do Lecer, Manuel Guerra Justo, Tabú, Franco Basalo, Alba Al-Bar (Daniel Fernández), Trasdovento, José Luis Gómez Ibáñez (Valderello), Crego e Monaguillo, Fausto Rivero Pardo (Quinta Soutullo), Pazo de Valdeconde, Castro de Lobarzán, Manuel Vázquez Losada, Terrae Monterrei (Adegas Terrae) and Triay Adegas de Oímbra.
For the development of this activity, the guidelines and preventive recommendations for events, congresses and fairs of the guide published by the ISSGA (Instituto de Seguridade e Saúde Laboral de Galicia) have been implemented. To this end, and in order to guarantee hygienic-sanitary measures, the seating capacity and schedules have been reduced, the distance between the tables has been increased, and the water was for personal use (as well as the individual spittoons); hydroalcoholic gel has been provided on all tables and hygienic masks available to all attendees, among other things.
This initiative is part of the cycle of promotional actions carried out by the denomination for this 2020, which will allow the wines of Monterrei to visit cities such as Vigo, Bilbao, Santander.
