An intense program of activities, suitable for all ages, will take place during the days of the XVIII Monterrei Wine Fair, in order to make this event a must-see.
In addition to the musical section, it is also envisaged the realization of commented tastings and showcookings for adults, as well as popular games for children/ girls/ boys.
The first of them will be ‘Monterrei, sips of history and trend’, with Juanjo Figueroa, president of the Asociación Galega de Sumilleres (AGASU) and image of the promotional campaign of the D.O. Monterrei “Non lle deas máis voltas”. It is scheduled for Saturday 09 August, at 13 o’clock, and will make a tour of the varieties, climate and soils of the wine territory, accompanied by a musical experience.
On the same day, but already at 20.00 hours, the activity ‘Come, bebe e aprende do mellor xeito’ will be organized by Begoña Vázquez (Galician Chef’s Award 2024), Miguel López (technical director of C.R.D.O. Monterrei) and José Manuel Salgado (teacher of CMUS Verín). During the same will show the great versatility of wines of Monterrei, as well as the gastronomic richness of the area, through a pairing with selected local products. All harmonized by a small acoustic guitar concert.
On Sunday, at 13 o’clock, will be held the tasting paired with products from “Experiences of Calidade de Galicia” presented as ‘Monterrei: Atlantic Freshness, Continental Character’, by Martín Touceda (responsible for the family business Hundred by Cel) and Juliana Picarelli (sumiller of the Maruja Limón Restaurant 1 Michelin star and 2 soles Repsol). This initiative will allow to discover the potential of the designation together with different elaborations of Celtic pork.
To participate in any of these three activities it will be necessary to formalize the registration in the e-mail info@domonterrei.com, as well as pay 10 euros participation fee. Places are limited and in strict order of registration. They will be held in the showcooking space located in the Alameda park.
On the other hand, and already for children, during the days of 09 and 10 August, the interior of the Alameda will also serve as a setting for popular games such as 3 en raya, tangram or frog, among others. It will be between 20 and 22 hours, in the south of the park, and no registration is necessary.
