The Monterrei D.O. has certified its new winery, “Father 1943,” under its seal of quality

The organization’s headquarters hosted a meeting of the Monterrei Designation of Origin Certification Committee, aimed at evaluating the certification of a new winery within the Monterrei wine-growing region.

After the certification committee confirmed that this new winery has met all necessary requirements, the Father 1943 winery (Rectoral del Monaguillo, S.L.) (located in Vilamaior, Verín) will now certify its wines under the Monterrei white wine category. 

With this addition, there are now 30 wineries registered and certified by the Monterrei Designation of Origin, which covers the municipalities of Verín, Monterrei, Vilardevós, Riós, Oímbra, Castrelo do Val, Laza, and Cualedro.  The vineyards of this D.O. cover a total of 852 hectares of land, where 397 winegrowers work.
