The 19th Monterrei Wine Fair is just around the corner

The Galician soccer player will officially open this year’s edition of one of Galicia’s major wine tourism events, highlighting Galician talent and the connection between sports and the region.
Antía Pérez will deliver the opening address for the 19th Feira do Viño de Monterrei on August 7 at 8:00 p.m. in Square García Barbón in Verín, following the celebration of the Monterrei Wine Brotherhood at the parish church. This is a recognition of her outstanding athletic career and the values of effort, commitment, and excellence she embodies. She is a Galician talent who has triumphed both within and beyond our region, reflecting the Monterrei Wine Fair’s commitment to promoting role models who project a positive image of the region both nationally and internationally.
With more than 10 years playing futsal on first-division teams, she made her debut with the Spanish national team and has amassed an extensive list of national and international achievements, including 2 league titles, 3 Queen’s Cups, 2 Spanish Super Cups, 1 European Championship, 1 bronze medal at the Youth Olympic Games, 1 Futsal Week Women’s February Cup, and third place at the Futsal Women’s World Cup, among many others—a career marked by effort, hard work, perseverance, and athletic success.
The 19th Monterrei Wine Fair will once again serve as a premier showcase for wines covered by the Monterrei Designation of Origin, bringing together wineries, winemakers, industry professionals, locals, and visitors over several days for a program that will combine tastings, cultural activities, cuisine, and music.
