The 19th Monterrei Wine Fair will feature a wide-ranging program of activities suitable for all ages, making August 7, 8, and 9 a must-attend event.
The first event, on Saturday, August 8, at 1:00 p.m., will kick off with a Showcooking featuring products from Experiencias de Calidade titled “Atlantic Alchemy in the Monterrei Kitchen 2026,” presented by Begoña Vázquez (winner of the 2024 Best Chef in Galicia Award) and Miguel López (Technical Director of the Monterrei D.O. Regulatory Council), accompanied by music from José Manuel Salgado (professor at the Verín Conservatory of Music).
That same day, at 8:00 p.m., the guided wine tasting “All Roads Lead to Monterrei: Past – Present – Future” will take place, led by the prestigious sommelier Mariña Fernández Toro (AGASU Member, WSET Level 3), who will take us on a journey through time with wines from the Monterrei D.O.
On Sunday, August 9, at 1:00 p.m., the showcooking featuring products from Experiencias de Calidade will begin: “Authentic Flavors: A Fusion of Organic Preserves with Wines from the Monterrei D.O.” featuring Jose Luis Prieto (Chef and Manager of O Segredo do Retiro, a Michelin-recommended restaurant) and Miguel López (Technical Director of the Monterrei D.O. Regulatory Council), accompanied by music from José Manuel Salgado (Professor at the Verín Conservatory of Music).
To participate in any of these three activities, you must register by emailing info@domonterrei.com and pay a 15 euro participation fee. Spots are limited and will be assigned strictly on a first-come, first-served basis. The activities will take place in the show cooking area located in Alameda Park.
In addition, for children, on August 8 and 9, the Alameda park will also serve as a venue for popular games such as Tic-Tac-Toe, tangram, and “frog,” among others. These activities will take place between 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. in the southern part of the park, and no prior registration is required.
