The appellation took part in two trade events organised by ACRUAGA in the Netherlands to strengthen the international profile of Galician wines and foster engagement with professionals in the Dutch wine sector.
The Monterrei Designation of Origin took part in two wine promotion events held in the Netherlands as part of an initiative launched by the Association of Galician Wine Regulatory Councils and the Geographical Indications for Traditional Galician Spirits and Liqueurs (ACRUAGA).
The events took place on Monday, 19 October, at LuminAir in Amsterdam, and on Wednesday, 21 October, at Hulstkamp Gebouw in Rotterdam. Both events brought together wine industry professionals interested in discovering the diversity, quality and distinctive character of Galician products protected by recognised quality schemes.
D.O. Monterrei was represented alongside the other Galician wine appellations and the Geographical Indications for Traditional Galician Spirits and Liqueurs. The joint initiative aimed to raise the profile of Galicia’s wine and spirits offering in the Dutch market.
During the two events, attendees had the opportunity to discover and taste a selection of Galician wines and spirits, as well as take part in professional activities designed to deepen their knowledge of the products, their regions of origin and their distinctive characteristics. The programme included a masterclass for wine professionals and a tasting showcasing products from the six participating Regulatory Councils.
Manuel Vázquez, president of D.O. Monterrei, highlighted the strategic importance of the Dutch market for Galician wine exports and emphasised the value of these initiatives in strengthening the commercial presence of products protected by the Regulatory Councils.
Participation in these events forms part of D.O. Monterrei’s internationalisation strategy, which aims to strengthen its presence in international markets and introduce industry professionals to the distinctive features of its wine-growing region, its indigenous grape varieties and the quality of its wines.
