Critical success in the presentation of Monterrei wines in Bilbao
08/10/2025Over the next few days, the wines of D.O. Monterrei will be present in two new promotional actions: Festival Monterrei Reverdece and Showroom Bilbao.
The first of them, Festival Monterrei Reverdece, will take place tomorrow Saturday in the town of Albarellos (Monterrei). It is an event that seeks to be a tribute to all the people who collaborated in extinguishing the fires last August, and will be formed by the following program: IV Festa da Vendima, XL Xuntanza Internacional de Gaiteiros and the concert of Luar na Lubre. Within the fourth edition of the Festa da Vendima, the D.O. Monterrei will have its own space where in addition to offering information about the wine region, you can know the wines from the following wineries: Ladairo, Pazo das Tapias, Gargalo, José Luis Gómez Ibáñez (Valderello), Crego e Monaguillo, Minius, Terras do Cigarrón, Triay, Pazo Blanco Núñez (Tapias Mariñán), Vía Arxéntea, Pazo de Valdeconde, Tabú, Franco Basalo, Alba Al-Bar (Daniel Fernández), Trasdovento, Fausto Rivero Pardo (Quinta Soutullo), Manuel Vázquez Losada, Manuel Regueiro García (Serra de Alén) and Terra de Godello.
Showroom Bilbao
The second initiative is scheduled for Monday, 6 October. The Dike 1 of the capital of Vizcaya will host a Showroom of the designation made up of 40 wines from 22 wineries registered in the Consello Regulador.
During the development of this promotional action, which gives continuity to those carried out in recent weeks in Barcelona and Gijón, will be presented the characteristics of the territory, its varietal and climatic singularities, as well as the different typologies of wines. This action is aimed at the professional public (sommeliers, distribution, hotels, restaurants, shops and media).
On this occasion the wineries that will be present are: Ladairo, Pazo das Tapias, Gargalo, Castro de Lobarzán, José Luis Gómez Ibáñez (Valderello), José Antonio Da Silva Pereira (Vinos Lara), José Luis Mateo García (Quinta da Muradella), Crego e Monaguillo, Minius, Terras do Cigarrón, Triay, Pazo Blanco Núñez (Tapias Mariñán), Fragas do Lecer, Vía Arxéntea, Abeledos, Pazo de Valdeconde, Tabú, Alba Al-Bar (Daniel Fernández), Fausto Rivero (Quinta Soutullo), Manuel Vázquez Losada, Alejandro Ramón Blanco Dijkhoff (Ramón Bigotes) and Terra de Godello.
“In the last seven years, we have visited Bilbao four times, which demonstrates the importance of this market for both the entity and our wineries,” says the president of the Consello Regulador, Manuel Vázquez Losada. “According to the data analyzed, Bilbao is a key area for Monterrei, and the implementation of this initiative will show an important example of what is being done in our name, where our top quality is”.
