The C.R.D.O. Monterrei has just made, in Barcelona, a Masterclass aimed at specialized press, purchasing directors and sommeliers of hotels and restaurants in the city, bringing together the experience of thirty Michelin stars.
This initiative has been formed by a training session on the territory (soil characteristics, climate, typology of product or grape varieties, among other issues) wine tasting made in Monterrei and harmony of them with different gastronomic elaborations. Sommeliers from the establishments Cocina Hermanos Torres Restaurant **, Moments **, Oria *, Xerta *, Kökosnøt Andorra, La Banyeta, La Vinícola Wines; as well as heads of purchase of hotels and hotel chains such as Mandarín Oriental 5 *, Hotel Palace 5 *, Hotel Majestic 5 *, Catalonia Hotels & Resorts. Also present were journalists and media prescribers and institutions such as Fundación La Caixa, Enoaula, I Magazine B-Guided, Associació Catalana de Sommeliers, Cadena Ser, Diario Sport, Radio Cope Catalunya, Selectus Wines or The Rooms Collection Magazine.
The wineries participating in this activity have been: Ladairo, Pazos del Rey, Gargalo, Castro de Lobarzán, Crego e Monaguillo, Quinta do Buble, Terras do Cigarrón, Triay Adegas de Oímbra, Pazo Blanco Núñez (Tapias Mariñán), Fragas do Lecer, Manuel Guerra Justo (Vía Arxéntea), Abeledos, Pazo de Valdeconde, Tabú, Franco Basalo, Alba Al-Bar (Daniel Fernández), Trasdovento, Fausto Rivero Pardo (Quinta Soutullo), Manuel Vázquez Losada and Manuel Regueiro García.
“After A Coruña and Ourense, it is the third initiative that we carry out of these characteristics, since it allows us to address it to a very specific and concrete public, in this case in the city of Barcelona”, recognizes the president of the Regulatory Council, Lara Da Silva. “With it we seek a direct and exclusive deal with the attendees to the same, through a presentation, in which we show our peculiarities and characteristics, Besides the realization of a gastronomic harmony that demonstrates the potential of Monterrei with different elaborations of cuisine. It is a promotional initiative different from those carried out on recent occasions in the city of Barcelona, through Wine Tunnels, and that allows creating new synergies for the D.O. Monterrei market. The truth has been a great experience where we have left our essence: quality”.
