Mallorca falls in love with wines from 22 wineries of the Monterrei D.O. at a professional tasting event.
04/06/2026The upcoming edition of the Monterrei Wine Fair now has its promotional poster. The winning design is by Carmen Alberto Rodríguez, who was selected from a total of 44 entries submitted to the contest organized by the C.R.D.O. Monterrei.
The creator of this work is a visual artist whose goal is to produce pieces that do not leave the viewer indifferent, but rather cause them to rethink their values. To highlight the value of the everyday and make the ordinary extraordinary.
The jury responsible for selecting the winning poster consisted of Manuel Vázquez, president of the Monterrei D.O. Regulatory Council; Alberto Fernández and Concepción Paradela, members of the council; Samanta Barreira, Councilor for Culture, Conservatory, Festivals, and Tourism of the Municipality of Verín; María del Pilar Salgado, Arts and Crafts teacher; and Xosé Rivada and Álex Araujo, visual artists.
The 19th Monterrei Wine Fair will be held in Verín on August 7, 8, and 9, having already established itself as one of Galicia’s premier food and wine events. Over the course of three days, visitors from across Galicia and Portugal will have the opportunity to enjoy the wines of the Monterrei Designation of Origin alongside a complementary cultural program that will be unveiled in the coming weeks.
