Over the next week, D.O. Monterrei will be present at two events in Galicia: XI Salón del Vino y Licores Gallegos de Calidad (Ourense Vinis Terrae) and Salón de Alimentación del Atlántico (Salimat Abanca).
The first of these, Ourense Vinis Terrae, will take place on 2 and 3 June at the Expourense exhibition grounds. In this case, and with the aim of promoting the wine region and strengthening the brand image, will be taken under the umbrella of the Galician Axencia da Calidade Alimentaria (AGACAL), through a format of the Tunnel of Wine in which fifteen wines from Monterrei can be known. The wineries participating in this initiative are Pazo das Tapias, Ladairo, Pazo de Valdeconde, Tabú, Alba Al-Bar (Daniel Fernández), Vía Arxéntea, Fragas do Lecer, Franco Basalo, Gargalo, José Antonio Da Silva Pereira (Vinos Lara), José Luis Gómez Ibáñez (Valderello), Manuel Vázquez Losada, Fausto Rivero Pardo (Quinta Soutullo), Terras do Cigarrón and Triay Adegas de Oímbra. In addition, information will also be offered on the tradition and history of wine-growing, soil and climate characteristics, grape varieties and typologies of wines.
The second agri-food initiative will be Salimat Abanca, from 05 to 08 of June, and which comes with the aim of enhancing the hall as a space for the meeting of the food and gastronomy sector. During the event, the wines of the denomination will be present in the AGACAL space, as well as in two tastings of Experiencias de Calidade. The first of them will be the day on June 5, by Natalia González, technical promotion of the Consello Regulador, and the second the next day, by the sommelier Nacho Costoya, who will make a tour through the five Galician wine denominations.
