The D.O. Monterrei stands in solidarity with the HORECA channel

From the Designation of Origin Monterrei shows the total support to the HORECA channel, after the measures applied in Galicia, for the control of the COVID-19, which carry with them new limitations for this sector, forcing the closure of the activity and allowing only the collection in the premises for consumption outside the same or the delivery to home.

“As throughout these months of pandemic, the Denomination of Origin Monterrei, cannot but join and publicly sympathize with the difficult situation that the HORECA channel lives, especially with the plight of our neighbors and fellow travelers for many years, “said C.R.D.O. Monterrei President Lara Da Silva.

“The hospitality and catering sector is closely linked to our wine, to our logo as a wine region, but also to agriculture, livestock, in general to the entire primary sector and of course also to the tourism sector,” adds the president.

For this reason, he calls for “individual responsibility to help everyone to mitigate the effects of this virus, not to criminalize sectors, and to show solidarity with the local hospitality and catering industry”. It also adds that “now we must unite and help a sector on which many others depend, for that reason we value very positively the aids offered from the Concello de Verín and the Xunta de Galicia, now, we must wait to see the extent of the same and if our hosteleros are able to resist this new closure.
