Monterrei Designation of Origin will participate in FENAVIN (National Wine Fair), which will take place from 6 to 8 May in Ciudad Real.
On this occasion will be attended under the auspices of the Axencia Galega da Calidade Alimentaria (AGACAL), together with the other Galician wine denominations, and will have a format of Tunnel of Wine in which you can know thirty wines of Monterrei. The wineries participating in this initiative are Minius, Alejandro Ramón Blanco Dijkhoff (Ramón Bigotes), Ladairo, Pazo de Valdeconde, Tabú, Alba Al-Bar (Daniel Fernández), Vía Arxéntea, Crego e Monaguillo, Fragas do Lecer, Franco Basalo, José Antonio Da Silva Pereira (Vinos Lara), Manuel Regueiro García (Serra de Alén), Manuel Vázquez Losada, Pazo Blanco Núñez (Tapias Mariñán), Terra de Godello and Triay Adegas de Oímbra.
In addition, the D.O. Monterrei area will also offer information on the history and tradition of wine in the area, different elaborations, soil and climate aspects or grape varieties, among other aspects.
With the attendance to the FENAVIN fair, it is intended to impact on the professional sector, since it is one of the reference fairs of Spanish wine where an important representation of the hotel industry, restaurant and purchasing agents meet. The last edition had 1,921 participating wineries, and closed its doors with 519,807 business contacts and an estimated business of 106 million euros.
“The presence at this fair seeks to promote greater awareness of D.O. Monterrei among the professional sector and to influence the search for new distribution and marketing channels, in addition to strengthening our brand image”, says the president of C.R.D.O. Monterrei, Manuel Vázquez Losada.
