Wines from the Monterrei D.O. win awards at the 40th edition of the Baco Awards: 1 Grand Gold, 5 Golds, and 7 Silvers

The C.R.D.O. Monterrei will participate under the auspices of the Galician Food Quality Agency (AGACAL), in an event that will help promote Monterrei wines and open new marketing channels at this international fair.
The Monterrei Designation of Origin will present its wines in a wine tunnel format, where information will be provided about the wine-growing region and its characteristics, and where visitors can taste wines from 17 wineries registered under the designation: The participating wineries are: Minius, Crego e Monaguillo, Pazos del Rey, Terras do Cigarrón, Triay, Pazo Blanco Núñez (Tapias Mariñán), Father 1943, Gargalo, Terra de Godello, Daniel Fernández (Alba Al-Bar), Ladairo, Vía Arxéntea, Trasdovento, Pazo de Valdeconde, Fragas do Lecer, Manuel Vázquez Losada, and Franco Basalo.
WINEMAD will transform Madrid into an international hub for the wine sector, an international trade fair dedicated to the wine industry that will bring together distributors, importers, and professional buyers from various international markets in the capital.
“We are aware of how important it is for the uniqueness and quality of Monterrei wines to be featured in this first edition of WineMad, a gathering with a clear international focus that will help boost the visibility of Monterrei wines in global markets,” says Manuel Vázquez Losada, president of the C.R.D.O.Monterrei.
About the Monterrei D.O.
D.O. Monterrei is one of the five Galician wine designations of origin. It encompasses the municipalities of Verín, Monterrei, Vilardevós, Riós, Oímbra, Castrelo do Val, Laza, and Cualedro. It comprises 30 wineries. The vineyards of this D.O. cover a total of 852 hectares of land, where 397 winegrowers work.
