The XVIII Feira do Viño de Monterrei already has the announcement poster that will illustrate the event

The Monterrei Designation of Origin triumphs in Valencia with the presentation of the new vintage of its wines. The event has helped to consolidate the name’s commitment to the Mediterranean market.
In this initiative have been presented a total of 34 wines from 19 wineries, of the 29 that make up this designation. The meeting took place in Mercader, one of the fashionable places in the city built in a former 19th century cooperage.
The D.O. Monterrei has offered a wine tunnel for the participants to discover not only its most representative varieties, Godello, in whites and Mencía, in reds, but also coupages with other indigenous varieties such as Treixadura and Doña Blanca, in the case of whites, and Araúxa, Sousón or Caíño Tinto in the case of red wines.
Within this tunnel the wineries have participated: Ladairo, Pazo das Tapias, Gargalo, Castro de Lobarzán, José Luis Gómez Ibáñez (Valderello), Crego e Monaguillo, Terras do Cigarrón, Triay, Pazo Blanco Núñez (Tapias Mariñán), Fragas do Lecer, Vía Arxéntea, Abeledos, Pazo de Valdeconde, Tabú, Alba Al-Bar (Daniel Fernández), Fausto Rivero (Quinta Soutullo), Manuel Vázquez Losada, Alejandro Ramón Blanco Dijkhoff (Ramón Bigotes) and Terra de Godello.
The event has been a success both for the attendance of professionals in the sector and for the incredible reception of wines, according to the participants. In addition, it has served as a showcase for the presentation of the “Ruta Vino del Verano D.O. Monterrei” in which participate six local: Mercader, La Marítima, La Ferrera, Bodega Biosca, Vinostrum and Travieso, which will have different actions such as tastings or wines, in which they will shine “Godellos” and “Mencías” from Monterrei, proving that they are the perfect complement to the Mediterranean cuisine.
During the presentation, the manager of the Monterrei Designation of Origin, Gonzalo Losada, stressed that “the real protagonists of success are the wineries and vintners who, thanks to their work and dedication, offer wines of excellent quality”.
“The wines of Monterrei speak for themselves, they bring a diversity and market possibilities that have differentiating characteristics,” he adds.
